1 the branch of religious studies focusing on those religions and sects which affirm the existence of extraterrestrial intelligent life and incorporate this as a central belief into a wider theological or philosophical system.

Astro-English: from Astronese, the prefix exo- denotes that which comes from “outside” or “from beyond” in order to mean extraterrestrial life; conjoining this with the word theology which denotes “the study of divinity and religion”, altogether denoting “the study of the role of extraterrestrial life in the context of religious doctrine and in relation to God.”
